Yes it is true. This past Sunday I showed up at a local gh3-logo.jpgToys R Us store at 5:30am to wait in line for a Wii. As I was driving over there I was thinking of what I’ll say to a cop who comes over to investigate why some guy is sitting alone in front of a toy store at that hour. I didn’t have to worry because I was the eighth person in line when I showed up. One woman had been there since 9:30pm on Saturday!wii_rock.jpg

My man Troy showed up shortly after I did with Starbucks. (Bless you dude) By the time the store opened at 9:00am the line extended well along the front of the building. We could even see a line forming at the Circuit City in a plaza across the street. Some of my fellow line-standers had come in from small towns almost 45 minutes away.

When the doors opened I got in line to turn my number ticket into a Wii Troy went to fetch Guitar Hero III. After hours of sitting on concrete, with a sleeping bag wrapped around me,

“Thank you! Good Night!”

I was in the store approximately 8 minutes. After the setup the family was rocking out on GHIII. I finally had to go get Little Geek his own guitar. A quick trip to BigLots for a simple toy guitar (read annoying noise maker), and a swift removal of it’s batteries, and he and I were deep into the ritual of putting the remaining GHIII stickers on his guitar.

Last night when I got home from work he greeted me with an excited “Let’s rock n roll daddy!”. After a rocking duet of The Rolling Stones “Paint it black” he proceeded to pull his guitar’s strap over his head, held his guitar up by it’s neck and said “Thank you!…….Good Night!” The wife and I lost it and were on the floor laughing. I don’t know where he picked that up. I honestly don’t ever remember saying that or seeing that in any of his Noggin shows.

I was so proud.
